Rayven-my bayyybbbyyy- was the last of the Mohicans. I don't quite know how to feel about this. What do we do now?
I've been raising kids for as long as I can remember. My bambinos, range in age, from 29 to....now...*drumroll please*....EIGHTEEN!
What happens now? Tell me, fellow moms, of now "legally adult" babies, what am I supposed to do?
Well, I think, I may smell, some semblance of mommy-freedom, on the horizon.
TODAY’S PSA : LIFE ISN’T FAIR!
I’m at that age where my mind still thinks I’m 27. But, my body keeps asking, if I’m sure I’m not dead yet! I've undergone reconstructive knee surgery, and recently, spinal fusion surgery. And, a couple of others, that I won't mention. I don't wish to bore you. But, on most days, my body, makes sure to remind me, of them.
I used electric heating pads, and, the packaged strip pads, for many years. Then, last year, I started making my own natural ones. The electric ones, always made me feel, like the electricity was penetrating through my body. It could just be me. So I switched to the strips, that you just take out of the pack, and velcro, or tape on. However, with those, after a few hours of wearing them, I always felt nauseous. So I decided, I had to go a more natural route.
Another One Bites The Dust! (A Sad Tale Of How My Robe "STEPHANIE" Transitioned To Her ("Robe Home On High")
Stephanie, My Dearly Beloved blue plaid robe, has made the transition from treasure to trash. Let my family tell it, she's BEEN trash. However.. I sincerely beg to differ.
I keep a journal of "gratitudes." Which in itself makes me smile, whenever I re-read pages from past months and years. This is just a short list, of a few things, I'm thankful for everyday, year around. It has always been, what others might consider "the small things" in life, that make me the happiest. What others may take for granted or may not be able to see the blessing in, usually bring me the greatest joy! It never has taken much to make me happy. . So, here’s the short list:
A day in the life...
Where do I even began? Let me just say, I work in shifts, based on what needs to be accomplished, on any given day. As, I'm sure, most of you, can identify with. It's different every day, seeing as how, a day in my life, and yours, is affected by the goings-on, in the lives, of others, connected to us. It can be both wonderful and overwhelming.
I wear many different hats, but even, if I only wore one, it would be a full-time job. STILL. Looking back, I don't know how I ever managed a 9-5 job and still accomplished, managed, and handled, everything else, that was going on, in my life. Actually.. I do know. It was by grace.
I joined a Mommy Follow Loop on Instagram a few days ago. You may be familiar with them. I wasn't. It was my first time participating in one. It seemed like an a great way to help grow a new page and make some connections, with other moms, and mommy bloggers. A few hours after the loop started, I began to get the customary DM introductions. "Hi. I'm _____. I'm a mom of 2, with a dog, a cat, and a bird. I live in ______, with my husband of ______yrs." "Hi, I'm _______. I'm a fitness enthusiast. I have a set of twin boys, a 5 year old, and a golden retriever, named______." And on, and on, they went. There were so many interesting, creative, and smart moms. The only issue was (and it was so unexpected and unforeseen) was when I would start to reply back to each one.
Hi! Meryl, here. Glad you stopped by. I'm just living my little-lah-ti-dah-life,here in the great state of Texas. I'm a mom of 5.
